Sivota is located in Epirus, the mountainous region of the north west of Greece and is one of the loveliest areas of the country.....green, scenic and traditional. Sivota enjoys a setting of remarkable natural beauty. All around are hills blanketed by pine, cypress and olive, the trees in many places reaching the water’s edge. The twisting coastline is indented with rocky coves, sandy bays, and stretches of almost white fine shingle beaches.  Just off-shore are wooded islets with beaches of their own, great fun to explore by boat or maybe taking a picnic - a water-taxi will also take you inexpensively.

Sivota harbour and village has plenty of Greek character. The harbour is pretty as a picture, with an array of cafés and restaurants (some quite smart), small shops, and often a flotilla moored at the quay. A ten minute flat walk (no hills) brings you to the upper part of the village, with church, stores and more tavernas.

An hour south of Sivota is Parga. Bursting with history, the impressive 14th century castle reflects the town’s varied history between the Venetians and Ottomans.

Insider tip

The resort is very hilly and not recommended for those with walking difficulties. On the other hand, this means that the surrounding area is very scenic and great for mountain biking. From the Club hotel, the walk into Sivota village and harbour is about 30 minutes up and down, so why not take the hotel's water taxi instead?

Popular things to do and see and unmissable experiences

There are organised coach trips to Parga, which is a charming and atmospheric resort. A busy holiday town, with a bustling harbour lined with restaurants, bars and nightspots, while behind is a labyrinth of narrow cobbled alleys lined with traditional red- tiled houses, stretching up to a Venetian fortress.

Also, take the day trip by boat to Anti Paxos for a swim, then cruising onto Paxos island for a lunch stop and sightseeing or shopping.

Take a day sail on a skippered Neilson yacht.

Climate

Mediterranean with summer temperatures from 24-38 degrees on average.
