Banff receives an enormous amount of snow each year and the area is open in November and close in May, so at Christmas or Easter you can expect great snow. The area is split into three resorts, often called the 'Big 3', all within close proximity of each other offering an incredible range of skiing. The 'Tri area' lift pass covers the local region of Mount Norquay (10 minutes by bus from town), Sunshine Village (25 minutes) with its expansive ski area and Lake Louise (45 minutes) set in a spectacular setting.
